主要集中在廢水處理、固體廢物處理與資源化領域.
研究成果和榮譽:
作為主要完成人, 曾獲中國國家級科技進步獎二等獎1項,部省級科技成果獎一等獎1項, 二等獎2項, 三等獎2項. 其中以第一完成人獲得部省級科技進步二等獎1項.
在美國曾于2001年和2002年分別榮獲 Ohio Water Environment Association Research Paper Competition Awards (包括學術講座及答辯).
1995年和1997年連續(xù)入選部級跨世紀學術骨干.
2005年入選中國國家教育部新世紀優(yōu)秀人才支持計劃.
2009年入選湖南省芙蓉學者計劃.
2010年獲得寶鋼優(yōu)秀教師獎.
2010年獲得中國僑界貢獻獎(創(chuàng)新人才).
